Established by Michelle Friel and Jules Kean in 2005, Friel Kean Films is an independent television production company.

“Making programmes that are entertaining, revealing and popular, we never shy away from revealing the truth about a story. We pride ourselves in treating everyone we come across with respect, whether in front of or behind the camera, to tell real stories insightfully and honestly.” Michelle

Based in Glasgow but with a thoroughly international outlook, we have produced high-quality factual, entertainment and daytime programmes for every major network in the UK. Many of these have been successfully exported internationally. Our most successful returning series is Money for Nothing for BBC1 with more than 200 episodes broadcast to date. Past work includes award winning documentary series about prisons, housing estates, hospitals, schools, food banks and pawn shops.

“There’s nothing we like better than working with talented creatives and our current development and production slates reflect our passion for innovative ideas, interesting people and top notch story telling.” Jules
